Little Ladybugs!

Today was our "last" day for coming to playgroup on Mondays. We are moving this Friday and won't be able to make the Monday Playgroup every week. My goal is to shoot for making it once a month since we are moving almost an hour north of the group. My heart breaks over this. We have moved churches before, but this group of moms and daughters met a need in mine and PandaGirl's life that is matched by nothing else. For two years we moms have watched our Chinese daughters grow from toddlers in diapers to beautiful princess girls who play VERY well together. The girls have a bond like I have never seen among ANY other children. God put this group together by the grace of His hand. Though my heart breaks over PG not being able to grow up with these girls on the same weekly basis that we have had, I cherish the blessing of the time we HAVE had. I will forever hold all the sweet memories dear to my heart. The dynamic of the group is just about to change anyway.
Mama Darling is in the next batch of referrals to get daughter #2, followed by Ski Instructor sometime this summer or fall and then MommySpice just put in paperwork for #2 as well. The White Swans changed today. Now we must purpose to make new memories together. The moms gave me a sweet "Friends" frame which I will, of course, put a picture of all of us in it. Thanks, y'all for blessing mine and PG's hearts! (PS...Sweet blog readers, please keep Team Mom in your prayers as she is recovering from extensive mouth surgery.)

Bluebonnets, Bunnies and Babes, OH MY!

Texas is covered in Bluebonnets for the next couple of weeks! If you have never seen these beauties in person then just GOOGLE it and get a little eye-candy for yourself. The sides of the highways are literally like oceans of blue-ish, purple covering the ground. Just gorgeous. We missed out last year because of a drought. No rain...no bluebonnets. It is the state flower and a tradition among Texans to plop your kids or yourself right in the middle of them for pictures. They don't last long and you have to seize the opportunity when you can. We trapsed across a field in wet grass to get to this patch so we wouldn't be on the side of the road with our little ones.

After our quick photo opp we headed to The Warming Hut
for our Easter Egg Hunt in her back yard. Too fun!

Overcast and Wonderful!

At our playgroup today the weather was so awesome! It was overcast, windy, a bit cool (enough for a light jacket or sweatshirt) and the grass was very lush and vibrant green. LOVED IT! No doubt, the girls and the mommies all had a blast being together. Thanks Team Mom for the books a couple of weeks ago and MamaDarling for our cute matching pink Chopstick Chics hats....can't wait to wear them together!

Playgroup at the Park

We went to a new park for us today and had a fabulous time with amazing weather!!! The girls and the mommies got lots of exercise, played, laughed and really enjoyed being out in such a gorgeous park. We missed you Cheerleader and Team Mom!

The vet called with news about Miao's surgery. All went well. I didn't mention this morning that he was also having his front claws removed. Please don't comment and gripe to me about this. I know it is painful, but he will be on plenty of meds and the doc said that technololgy has made this surgery easier for kitty-cats these days. It was a choice we had to make in order to keep him in the house. I had two cats for twelve years who had this done and they were fine. We pick him up tomorrow and get to love on him then. Thanks to all you pet lovers who understand that God does care for His creatures great and small. He is the One who created them....I believe He will watch over Miao as well.

No Playgroup : (

The girls didn't get together today for our normal Monday playgroup time. We had our little Valentine's Party planned out and ready to go. Yuckie sickness took over instead. My PandaGirl has pink-eye and a nasty cold with little green boogies stock-piling themselves! Another has strep throat and another's mom has the flu. Pooh. Oh well, just one of those things. After taking PG to the doctor for all the lovely crusty goo in her eye we headed to Target for the eyedrop medicine. While we were waiting for the prescription to be filled we did a little shopping and picked up about four cute little outfits for spring for her. When I went back to buy the eyedrops I quickly realized I had to put all the cute clothes back on the rack for another visit. $57.32 for the teeny tiny bottle of liquid gold!!!!! That was WITH my insurance...AHHH! Again, just one of those things. It is supposed to be a super-duper great eyedrop medicine. I mean really, I think I can even put it on my fingers to make my nails grow, shine my kitchen floor with it and for even more fun I can rub it on my hips and they SHRINK! And who'd have thought that all of this came in such a tiny little dropper bottle??? Hmph. The picture I took has a tissue box so you get an idea of how small the bottle is. Seriously, thank you, Lord for the healing powers of medicine.

Pandamonium!

In honor of Chinese New Year coming up we got the girls' pics made in traditional Chinese outfits with all our pandas. The first time we did this was two years ago and we had them all in red, white & blue 4th of July outfits. Adorable. The next year we tried pink & denim. Adorable idea. Nobody cooperated very well. Pooh. This year they did great! These pics are just with a camera from the side. PandaGirl's head isn't blurred in the real pic. After we finished there we headed to our frequented spot: Chick-fil-A. Thanks White Swans for a great day...we love all you chick-a-dees!

Deshing Darling's 4th Birthday!

One of our playgroup friends (see Deshing Darling under my White Swans link) had her 4th birthday party today. Mama Darling did a GREAT job piecing things together and totally CREATING things to go with "The Little Einsteins" theme which doesn't seem to have anything out on the market yet. Hey Mama D, maybe THAT'S how you could make an extra buck....market all your Little Einstein stuff! Oh, and Phil can take out stock in V8. HAHAHA! We had a great time watching the girls do pin the tail on the donkey, musical number walk, "help" open the gifts, and have ice cream and cake. Well, and it was pretty funny watching my PandaGirl dump her Chex-mix BACK into the bowl......for the SECOND time! Oh my.

Pink Poodle Pajama Party!

Our friend at HunanSpice celebrated her 4th birthday on Friday with a Pink Poodle Pajama Party. Well, it wasn't a REAL pajama party sleepover....it was a mock one! The girls had on their pjs, sleeping bags, a cuddly to hold and watched the Strawberry Shortcake Princess movie while enjoying popcorn and cherry limeade. Before that they had hotdogs and PINK cupcakes. SpicyMom did such a great job on the party and the girls had a blast! I LOVE HAVING A GIRL!!!!!!! (Someone remind me of that when all the hormones rage through our home later!) ; )

Brown-eyed Girls!

Playgroup was at our house today and I had them all make Christmas cookies. They were soooo cute rolling out the sugar cookie dough and pressing the cutters to make gingerbread men and stars and trees. They then were able to frost them all by themselves and add all the fun sprinkles and such. Each girl has a pink shirt that reads: "Everyone loves a brown-eyed girl." When one of the moms discovered these at TARGET, of course, we ALL had to have one! We love our brown-eyed girls so much. Merry Christmas!
